211 Brevard Awarded Accreditation
Brevard, Inc. has been awarded accreditation by the Alliance
of Information and Referral Systems (AIRS) Accreditation process,
joining a select group of just over twenty accredited organizations
in the United States. The Accreditation demonstrates competence
in meeting the national Standards for Professional Information
Accreditation is the culmination of a two-year process that
includes consultation and on-site assessment of excellence
in areas including administration, training & orientation,
service delivery and program evaluation.
The mission of 211 Brevard, Inc. is to provide information,
referral, crisis intervention and community education services
to individuals and organizations throughout Brevard County.
Founded in 1963, the agency became the first information and
referral program in Florida and the seventh nationally to
offer access through the 211 dialing code in May, 2001, thanks
to a collaborative effort of the agency, the United Way of
Brevard County, and the Brevard County Board of County Commissioners.
